A Pair Of French 19th Century Renaissance St. Patinated Bronze Ewers/Urns

A stunning and most handsome pair of French 19th century Renaissance st. patinated Bronze ewers/urns. Each ewer is raised by a square base below a fluted socle decorated with a foliate band at the center and spiral band above. The body of each ewer is designed with floral garlands, scrolling acanthus leaves, lion’s heads, and a maiden surrounded by cheerful cherubs. The foliate decorated top of each ewer has an adult merman leaning over the top holding the spout as to provide for his merchild below. The adult merman serves as the handle on each ewer.
